Year 5 enjoyed our visit to South Shields beach this morning where we orientated maps, identified geographical features and drew sketch maps of what we could see. We even compared South Shields beach to Copacabana beach in Brazil.
This week we invited parents from Nursery up to Year 6 to experience our reading event. Held over 4 days, we showed parents how children in every year group are taught phonics and reading. We have had such positive feedback and would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who attended and participated in our first parent event: we look forward to running others in the future.

Well done to our Stars of the Week this week!
Over the last few weeks Year 5 have enjoyed music lessons with a drumming teacher.
Last week Year 5 visit led Hebburn Hub library where 17 more children became members! The library staff set up a great activity which involved the children finding how books were catalogued and how they could find any books they were looking for on the computer system.
Over the last few weeks we have been really lucky to enjoy drumming lessons!
