This week we invited parents from Nursery up to Year 6 to experience our reading event. Held over 4 days, we showed parents how children in every year group are taught phonics and reading. We have had such positive feedback and would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who attended and participated in our first parent event: we look forward to running others in the future.
Congratulations to our Star of the Week winners this week!
The pictures from our visit with Lucy Turner are eventually ready to view! We tried spotty dogs, mountain climbers, push ups and star jumps and it was exhausting! Well done to every single person who took part and tried their hardest. We were extremely proud of everyone!
This week we were so excited to have our new outdoor water equipment installed by Pentagon Play. Our Reception children have enjoyed getting involved and discovering the fantastic new equipment in the glorious sunshine this week. We can pour, splash, spray and redirect the water with our new equipment and we have been doing all of that and more!
Check out how amazing it is!
This week the whole school has celebrated Art Week. Each year group focussed on a different art movement. We each learned about a different art style, some famous artist and create our own piece of fantastic art.
Year 1 Fauvism
Year 2 Pop Art
Year 3 Surrealism
Year 4 Surrealism
Year 5 Cubism
Year 6 Dadaism
This week, Reception invited their very eager parents into school to hear a brilliant story and spend some time in our library. The children were able to pick out some books with their parents, read them in our library and take them home to share!
We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our reading spaces with you and we hope you enjoyed coming into our amazing library. We can’t wait to hear about the stories you have shared at home.
Today we were able to spend our attendance stars from Autumn 2!
We had so much to choose from and enjoyed spending our well earned stars. Did you know we get a star for every full week we have in school? We were able to choose prizes such as; superhero masks, rubbers, zip bracelets, cars and so much more!
We are so excited for the attendance trolley to come around next time but for now, Miss Little has to rest her feet!
Today was the second performance of our Wriggly Nativity.
Our Reception children were exceptional! They sang beautifully and all remembered their lines.
We hope you enjoyed the story of the very first Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you all, best wishes for 2022
The Reception Team xx
Today we visited a Winter Wonderland and became Santa’s elves.
We made Christmas reindeer decorations in the workshop and then we went into the woods.
Some of us went to see a special visitor and some of us made bird feeders, then we swapped over!
After spending time with Santa (we were all on his good list!!!) we went back into the woods for hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
It has been the best day ever!
