This week we invited parents from Nursery up to Year 6 to experience our reading event. Held over 4 days, we showed parents how children in every year group are taught phonics and reading. We have had such positive feedback and would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who attended and participated in our first parent event: we look forward to running others in the future.
Well done to our Stars of the Week this week!
Congratulations to our Star of the Week winners this week!
The pictures from our visit with Lucy Turner are eventually ready to view! We tried spotty dogs, mountain climbers, push ups and star jumps and it was exhausting! Well done to every single person who took part and tried their hardest. We were extremely proud of everyone!
This week the whole school has celebrated Art Week. Each year group focussed on a different art movement. We each learned about a different art style, some famous artist and create our own piece of fantastic art.

Yesterday, Year 3 went to Waterstones in Newcastle to spend our World Book Day tokens. We had so much fun looking at the endless amount of books. The workshop we took part in was fantastic. We discussed the books we read at home and at school. We read a spooky book with music playing to build atmosphere and talked about how to engage our audience when we read. Some of us even had our minds read! We were all shocked (even all the adults!)
It was so lovely to see the children enjoying their books on the metro home! I think some of us had nearly finished by the time we got back to school!
Today we were able to spend our attendance stars from Autumn 2!
We had so much to choose from and enjoyed spending our well earned stars. Did you know we get a star for every full week we have in school? We were able to choose prizes such as; superhero masks, rubbers, zip bracelets, cars and so much more!
We are so excited for the attendance trolley to come around next time but for now, Miss Little has to rest her feet!
Y3 had their Christmas party yesterday, it was lots of fun.
I loved the games.

I enjoyed musical corners.

Year 3 had an exciting morning. We had a virtual visit from the author Maddie Moate, who told us all about her book ‘STUFF’.
She told us about her adventures around the world and how this inspired her book. Her book is all about recycling and we couldn’t believe that she saw paper being made from elephant poo! Some of us were so interested in the topic that we began making notes on our whiteboards in order to do some more research!
It linked perfectly with our English work and our new book ‘The Tin Forest’ which is also about recycling.
This week, a little later than we had hoped, we were able to go to our attendance shop. This attendance shop was on wheels and came to our classrooms which was super fun!
We were all so excited to be able to pick our prizes which ranged from superhero masks, squishies, snap bands and much more! Our most popular prize was definitely the slinky!
