In the current situation, we would like to inform you about reporting absence during COVID-19.
We are aware that children may need to isolate due to exposure to the virus or if families are awaiting results. It is important that school is informed as a matter of urgency by telephoning the school office. If your child is absent due to isolation or whilst awaiting results, the government has issued a specific code for schools to use when reporting COVID absences. Using this code will not affect your child’s overall attendance however, it will not be back dated. This means if you fail to inform school on the first day of absence, the attendance for that day will be marked as ‘unauthorised’.
We have received a letter from Minister Ford to help inform and support families during the most recent government lockdown. We understand that families of children with SEND may face difficult decisions with regards to care and support however, we hope that this letter may provide information to families and those who work with SEND children.
If you feel you need any help or support then please do not hesitate to contact us. We are just an email or phone call away.
Tomorrow we will be supporting Children in Need at Toner Avenue School.
Children can come to school in anything SPOTTY, DOTTY or YELLOW – or just non-uniform if they’d prefer!
Any donations should be given to class teachers.
We can’t wait to see all those spots and dots!

A huge congratulations to Y5VO who manages a fantastic 100% last week!!
Keep it up guys, you are the first class to receive our attendance award for a THIRD time this year. You are setting such an amazing example and setting an extremely high standard for everyone else to reach!
We have been finding out how people celebrate Bonfire Night and how we can stay safe around sparklers and fireworks. We have enjoyed splatting paint to make our own firework pictures and we have copied different sparkler patterns on the whiteboard and outside with chalks!

We must say a huge well done to Year 6 who have sat their first mock SAT’s week. Their attitude and maturity has been fantastic to see.
Congratulations to everyone and keep up the hard work!
Y3DT have been working on creating some fantastic book trailers for the amazing Dear Dinosaur book we have been reading in class. We were so excited to share them with you but all of our hard work has created HUGE files that are just too big for our school website. We have made them all available on Google Classroom for Y3DT to access at home. We really hope you like them!

We can’t go on school trips at the minute so we brought the trip to Y2!
Y2SC had a virtual visit to the Museum of London to look at the Fire Fire! Exhibition and listen to experts tell us about the Great Fire of London.
Ella was surprised to hear that the Baker’s Maid died but the others in the bakery survived because she was too scared to jump out of the window with them.
Tilly was shocked at how quickly the fire spread on Tuesday.
Khloe wondered why the houses were so close together.
