Our New Sensory Room

5th March 2021J Little

We are so excited to introduce you to our new and complete sensory room which will be ready for all children to use when we return from the latest covid lockdown.

Mrs Inkster has worked hard to ensure the space is quiet and relaxing and we can’t wait for children to experience it when we get back.

Nursery Class 2 – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

11th December 2020G Cokill

One of Santa Claus’s elves paid nursery a visit and decorated our classroom for us! He also left games, festive stories, an Advent calendar, videos and  songs for us too! We have been making Christmas cards and calendars and finding out about the Nativity story and acting it out.

Nursery Class 2 – Pyjama Day!

11th December 2020G Cokill

We had lots of fun on pyjama day! When we came in the elf had left some lanterns, hot chocolate and marshmallows! He also left a Christmas chest that we had to leave until home time! When we opened the chest it had presents, candy canes and chocolate bars inside for us to take home! We finished the day with hot chocolate and watched Stickman.
Thank you Mr. Elf for a lovely day!

Free Virtual Sport Club

12th November 2020r king
The Youth Sport Trust, who support us in our delivery are launching a brand-new initiative. From today (Thursday 12th) until the 18th December, they are running a free 30-minute online club which is available for all children and young people to participate in some sport, develop skills and of course have fun!
The club will be held every day from 5pm and it accessed through a live video on their Youtube channel. The club will be led by Athlete Mentors with different backgrounds, abilities and from different sports. The first club this evening is being delivered by Jenna Downing, the world’s number one female inline skater and ten times British Champion.
Each session will have a specific theme based on the day which will be…
Adventure Monday – this might involve getting children to do floor, wall climbing and map reading all within their living room.
Tuesday Play – imaginative play utilising resources in the house to create games and activities to get active.
Wild Wednesday – some high tempo competitive activities involving personal challenges.
Thinking Thursday – introducing cognitive challenges for children through movement. Active noughts and crosses and introducing an element of competition – whether that be against themselves, the clock, their siblings or remotely with friends.
Fun Friday – a chance for children to let loose and have some fun. Dancing and doing what makes them feel good.
As you are aware, many children and young people are currently missing out on their usual sport clubs. This is a great opportunity for them to develop skills and learn something new. It is also a great opportunity for us as providers as it gives us another opportunity to ensure children are remaining engaged and active with no real work needed.

We have been finding out how people celebrate Bonfire Night and how we can stay safe around sparklers and fireworks.  We have enjoyed splatting paint to make our own firework pictures and we have copied different sparkler patterns on the whiteboard and outside with chalks!
