Year 6 BB

Year 6 Kidsafe

14th May 2021J Little

As part of our Kidsafe programme, Year 6 have been learning about anger and tools to help us calm down.  We used the Kidsafe tools to help our latest friends (Sid and Bobby) relieve their emotions in a safe and controlled way.  As part of our experiment, we took Sid and Bobby onto the school yard to see what happens when we allow our anger to ‘explode’ and saw how this could affect other people.

We were so proud of the mature and respectful way that Year 6 approached this week’s lesson.

Well done to our wonderful Stars of the Week this week.

This week we were excited to have a virtual celebration assembly again, having endured a couple weeks of poor internet connection.  We were so pleased to see some fantastic attitudes to learning this week and some extremely hard work.

Congratulations to everyone and keep it up!

To celebrate our final day in lockdown, the Year 5/6 bubble baked some amazing cupcakes.  We used our measuring and mixing skills to make hundreds of fantastic cupcakes.  We decorated and ate our delicious desserts and there were even some left over for the teachers.  They said they loved them too!

This week our Year 5/6 bubble have produced a piece of art work for Children’s Mental Health Week. We talked about the different feelings and emotions of Lockdown 3.0 and how to have a positive mind set. We thought about the positives of the lockdown and the activities we have carried out and enjoyed during these times. We represented our lockdown life through drawing and abstract art and I think you will agree they look fantastic!
