Nursery have been finding out about harvest time and what happens down on the farm!
They have investigated the size, texture and taste of different fruits and vegetables and made soup and fruit kebabs!
They have learnt some harvest songs and danced along and have made vegetable people and made vegetable print paintings!
Thank you to everyone who donated to Hebburn Helps! It is greatly appreciated and, as a school, we have managed to collect lots of supplies to help our community.

As the new year begins, we are making essential changes to our school Nurture Room. Our ELSA staff have been working tirelessly to create a calming, homely environment to create a safe space for our children.
We are looking for a fish tank (with equipment if possible) to help bring all areas of the space together. If you are able to help, please contact the office so we can arrange collection/drop off and quarantine time.
We are so excited for you to see our new-look Nurture Room so keep an eye out for a post in the coming weeks with all the fantastic things we have to show.

As part of the National School Breakfast Program we taste tested our brand new bagels! They went down an absolute storm as you can see in these pictures! We can’t wait to get the scheme up and running in September. Our second taste test will be Wednesday with the children in our part time bubbles!

We have been finding out about Shrove Tuesday this week. We have been making our own pancakes, listening to the story of The Runaway Pancake and having a go at tossing our own pancakes!
Our new attendance mascot has been settling into life at Toner brilliantly! He has been busy in Y6 expanding his vocabulary, learning his times tables & giving the children a warm welcome into the classroom!
However, he is still nameless! The children from across the school have been busy thinking of name options & we have had a very hard time narrowing down the options, please help us decided on the final name by voting in the poll below:

Hello everyone,
As you will have heard about in the news, there is a highly contagious sickness bug in the area.
The advice to follow is to leave 48 hours after the last bout of sickness/diarrhoea before children return to school to avoid it spreading. If you are unsure please just ring to check.
As usual, please just ring the office on the first day of any illness so that it is marked as an authorised absence.

the fire fighters from the Hebburn station visited us today and told us all about their job. They showed us their different uniforms and told us why they had to wear them. The best part was going on the fire engine and trying out the hose!
Thank you to all of you for your fabulous spud creations to celebrate World Book Day! It was brilliant to see so many of you getting involved and we had a lot of fun guessing which books the characters came from. Your support makes a huge difference to the children – sharing stories and reading with them is the best way to ensure that they make good progress not just in school, but throughout their lives.
The winners are pictured below (along with all of the other the other tatie masterpieces) and they have each received a brand new book to take home and enjoy. I was able to choose books by some brilliant authors; we had Allan Ahlberg, Anthony Horrowitz Ross Welford books to choose from. Hopefully we’ll have some book reviews from the children to share with you soon.
All of the children have received a sticker and a book token too, please make sure you go and choose one of the world book day £1 books – there’s some brilliant authors in there this year. Or your child can take £1 off from a full priced book they want to buy. Tesco in South Shields have stocked the £1 books – but get in there quickly before they sell out!
