We are very proud to announce that the Year 5 Toner Tigers Spelling Team were crowned “South Tyneside’s Best Spellers” after winning the Spelling Bee! The team made it through to the final round, which was held at the Open Zone in South Shields . The spelling bee was beamed back to the classroom via video link so that the class were able to see and hear the action as well as cheer on their team. The scores were neck and neck all the way through the competition – the final was decided by an extremely nerve-racking tie-breaker.
