As it was pancake day yesterday, Y2SC learned about Pancake day in different countries and lots of Pancake day facts!

Did you know in Sweden, pancake day is called ‘Fat Tuesday’?

We discovered that the biggest pancake ever, was 15 metres long! With a little bit of help, we worked out how many 30cm rulers that would be. So off we went into the hall, armed with 48 rulers! (Thanks to Miss Dobbin, we managed to borrow the extra 2 to make 50)

Then we put them from one end of the hall to the other…if you can see the tiny people at the back…that’s how big the biggest pancake was!

Finally, just before home time, we had a little competition. We had to find as many words within the word pancakes as we could. As you can see KS from Kidsafe got a mention in one of the entries too. Also I was impressed that some of the children had found words that I hadn’t even thought of! Well done everyone!

Hope you all enjoyed your pancakes yesterday!
