Pupils and staff took part in a sponsored sport event today. Olympian volleyball player, Nathan French, joined children from Reception to Year 6 to encourage and motivate them to complete as many repetitions of exercises as they could in one minute. Children were put through their paces in a range of circuit activities including press ups and star jumps, knowing that every jump would raise more sponsor money. The morning ended with an interactive assembly where children were shown the skills needed to be a volleyball champion and given the opportunity to ask Nathan questions about his sport.
A large percentage of all money raised will come back to school to be used to buy sports equipment – who knows, maybe we have the next Olympic heroes here at Toner!
