Please see the letter below which will be coming home with children tonight.
This week, we had the pleasure of Full Week Freddy’s company in Y3SJ.
The reason for this is that we were the best attenders in school last week with an unbeatable 100%!
We loved having him in the classroom and we would love for him to visit again soon!

Yesterday, Y3OS took part in a taster session for All Stars Cricket that will be running in Summer 2020. We had a go at showing off our throwing and catching skills – including a tricky “heads, shoulder, knees and toes” challenge! Then we used our bat to control the cricket ball across the floor before hitting it back to our team.
It was a great opportunity for us to try something new and we all had a lot of fun!

Sorry for the delay everyone, but thank you so much for your amazing efforts for World Book Day with our Reading Rocks!
it was incredibly tough to pick the winners, some classes had 2 and even 3 winners! We hope you liked your prizes.
Many of the rocks are now displayed in our library and some of you may be commissioned to do some more, very impressed with the artwork!
All of the children are enjoying their books from Waterstones too!
Thanks to Miss Tait, Y2 had their first ‘First Aid’ session today.
We learned how to wash our hands correctly, including a song…ask us to sing it to you. It will help you to remember all the parts of your hands that need washing. We’ve been using the song in our regular hand washing times in school.
Then we learned how to help a friend when they had a nose bleed. Gloves on, head down and pinch their nose for 10 minutes.
Then we sorted items by whether they belonged in a first aid kit or not.
We can’t wait for our next session! Thanks Miss Tait for organising this for us!
Today, Y2SC embarked on an amazing adventure as they went on two visits in one day!
The children’s behaviour was exemplary on the metro journey both there and back and they were fantastic ambassadors for our school.
Their first stop was the Apple Store in Newcastle. Whilst there, the children learned how to use coding to control a computer or device. The children worked fantastically well in teams and they are now experts in coding!
Next, the children went to Waterstones where they redeemed their World Book Day vouchers. The children were then thoroughly entertained by Johnny’s story telling, jokes and magic tricks.
Before the return journey, the children enjoyed their packed lunches inside Grey’s Quarter. It was just like a real picnic! For some, this was the best part of the day!
The children had quite a surprise as they arrived back at school because a digger was demolishing their old Year 1 classroom just as they passed. There were lots of mixed emotions!
Thank you very much to all of the parent helpers who attended today’s visit and thank you to Y2SC for making it such an enjoyable day.

Take a sneak peek at some of the lovely creations from 4LT for World Book Day!
Well done to all those who took part and Congratulations to Josh on winning with your Golden ticket and Wonka Bar creation.
Wow, what a fantastic effort the entrants to this year’s World Book Day competition have put into their designs!
I think Miss Cox is going to have a very hard time choosing a winner from all these amazing entries.
Well done & a very happy World Book Day to you all! 😃
Today, we visited Waterstones in Newcastle. We had an amazing time listening to stories and exchanging our World Book Day tokens for books.
During the metro journey back, we couldn’t wait to read new stories!
A great morning was had by all and the World Book Day celebrations have definitely begun in Y3SJ! 📚📖
A huge thank you to Waterstones and Miss Cox for organising it for us!

Our first ever attendance shop was a huge success!
We were able to spend our attendance stars that we earned for each full week we were at school! With 6 whole stars on offer, we had a range of fun and exciting items to choose from; hand puppets, slime, fancy rubbers, bouncy balls, the list was endless!
Some children made the VIP list for 100% attendance last half term, and some even made the VVIP list for 100% attendance since SEPTEMBER! What an achievement!
We had so much fun going to our attendance shop and we CAN NOT wait to go again!!
