In Year 3 this week, we have been studying the art work of Victor Vasarely, who is widely accepted as ‘Grandfather’ and Leader of the op art movement.

We looked at different abstract pieces of art and discussed optical illusions before focusing on Vasarely’s work ‘Zebra’, which many believe is one of the earliest examples of ‘op art’.

We investigated his use of regular and irregular, straight, vertical and horizontal lines and tried to create our own pieces of op art.
