Yesterday, as part of our work on Italy, 36 Year 3 children made a trip into Newcastle to visit Frankie and Benny’s Restaurant.
We travelled on the Metro from Hebburn to Haymarket, a short walk from the destination.
When we arrived at Frankie and Benny’s, we were seated by our host, Eva and provided with colouring pencils and activity books. We had fun trying to solve the word searches, anagrams and crossword puzzles.
We then made a pizza with our partner, spreading tomato sauce on the base and selecting from a wide variety of toppings. When we had finished designing and making, our waiter, Luke, took the pizza to be cooked by the helpful Chefs.
When our pizza was ready we followed the wonderful smells to the kitchen and collected it from the hatch. We then sat down with our pizza and drink to enjoy a meal with our friends.
Time passed quickly and before we knew it, it was time to return to school. We thanked Eva and Luke for their beautiful pizza and for giving their time to help us understand more about Italian cuisine.
We all agreed it was the best trip we have ever been on and are grateful to Owen’s Dad and Jak’s Mum for coming with us making the trip possible.
A Big Thank you to everyone at Frankie and Benny’s, John Dobson Street, the service and attention we received made this a fantastic end to our Italy topic.
Mmm!! It looks like they had a lovely time! Mario told me he enjoyed himself and the pizza was really yummy!!!
