On Friday 17th February, after dinner, we all had a packed lunch and left school at 11:40. We went to the Hebburn metro and got there by 12:07. I was so excited to get to Monument. We got to Monument at 12:23 and as we were all walking down to Las Iguanas, I had butterflies because; I didn’t know what it was going to taste like.
When we got to the restaurant, we went downstairs and I got chosen to make the cocktails for my table. The drink was called cool breeze.
Here are some of the dishes of food that are known as street foods. Quesadillas were my least favourite of all the dishes. I didn’t like the roasted plantain, it was basically roasted banana.
After all that food, we had another couple of dishes, we had a tortilla and out of all the toppings to go on the tortilla, I only liked the rice.
After all the main meals, we had pudding! This was my favourite part of the whole trip- CHURROS!! We even had a chocolate dip to share with our table! I was one of the lucky ones that got an extra churro with my own chocolate dip.
Soon it was time to go home and we walked back to the metro, we got to the metro at 2:34 and got back to Hebburn at 2:50. We got back to school to go home at 3:15.
