Last week Toner Avenue took part in Internet Safety Day!
Each class took the time to think about how to stay safe online and, this year, the big focus was ‘Understanding Consent in a Digital World’. The children thought about what they should and shouldn’t share online and the importance of ensuring they have the correct consent to put information out there.
Throughout the school, there were plenty of e-safety activities going on!
Year 1 read ‘Buddy the internet safety dog’, learned a rhyme to help to keep themselves safe on the internet and looked at different scenarios to see what they would do in that situation. Finally, they designed their own child friendly tablet game!
Children from Year 4 made some important pledges; promising to keep themselves safe. Be sure to take a look at some of these below!
In Year 5, the children used their own fantastic computing skills to create an informative poster on the importance of not posting personal details online.
In Year 2, we thought carefully about some questions on using technology and considered its pros and cons. Then we played a game; the teacher asked a question about using the internet and the children decided whether it was ‘okay’ or ‘not okay’!
Year 3 children made e-safety posters showcasing their knowledge on creating a safe and secret personal password.
Year 6 were very creative! They showed their e-safety knowledge through posters, play-scripts, acrostic and even songs!
We are so pleased the children here at Toner have such a great understanding of using the internet and also how they can protect themselves while using it! Well done everyone!
