Our new Breakfast Club has been really well received. Day two saw the pupils taking part in archery after they had enjoyed their delicious breakfasts! Remember, breakfast club is open from 8 – 8.30am and there is no need to book.
As a reward for 100% attendance, we will be having a monthly reward of a £10 Amazon voucher. We had 188 children entered our first raffle.
September’s winner (and our first ever winner of the attendance raffle was) was Harrison From R1!

At Toner Avenue, we have satisfied 4 of the 6 criteria of enabling our children to access Physical Education since returning to school after the recent Lockdown. This enabled us to achieve the Emerging School Mark showing the efforts of all the children and staff within the school. A great team effort. Well done.

As a way of saying a BIG ‘thank you’ to all those people and organisations that have assisted and helped the charity to continue to provide it’s services to cancer patients throughout a very difficult time, we’re proposing to organise an exciting variety show at the City Hall in Newcastle!
Admission is strictly by ticket only. If you would like complimentary ticket(s), at no charge, please contact [email protected] or telephone Reception at Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care (0191 2855999) who will put the tickets aside for you and be available for collection from Daft as a Brush House as from Saturday, 5 June. Please note, there are no bookable seats, so please arrive from 6pm on 26th June.
This week our Year 6 children graduated from the second KidSafe program. As KidSafe educators, we feel the second program has had a significant impact on the discussions the children were able to have as these are issues that currently affect 10/11 year old children.
We have been overwhelmed by the response of all children in each session and are so proud to see such mature attitudes to sensitive topics. We feel our Year 6 children have been given a set of tools that will not only help them in the transition to secondary school, but has also given them tools for life.
