The Wriggly Nativity

Some pictures of our wonderful Reception children in their performance of the Wriggly Nativity!

Reception at the Cock Crow

Today Reception had Christmas Lunch at the Cock Crow Inn! It was delicious. We were so lucky because we also had a very special visitor! Santa took time out from his busy day to visit us and bring us a present! We sang him some songs and then he had to go and feed his reindeer. Before we left we sang some Christmas songs for the customers who were having their lunch. They saw us sing last year and came back for more wonderful singing to get them in the Christmas spirit!
Merry Christmas everybody!

Eco Committee

A big thank you to all of our new Eco Committee members for their help this lunchtime!

We have been busy setting up an experiment on air pollution, we were sent some very special test tubes which will measure the air pollution in our area. The test tubes will collect air samples and they will then be sent away to be analysed.  We will find out the results of the experiment in the new year, hopefully we will have a good result & Toner Avenue will have a low air pollution count.

Just a polite reminder- if you see the test tubes attached to the fence, please do not play with them as we may not get an accurate result!

Many thanks,

Miss Feeney & Miss Jones.

Marvellous Creations in Year 5!

Today Year 5 have been busy making some Willy Wonka style biscuits!

We are currently enjoying reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and hearing all about the marvellous chocolate inventor, Mr Wonka. Over the week we have designed our own treats with special characteristics, such as colour changing biscuits. We then went on to write some fantastic descriptions of our designs, and designed some eye catching packaging to try and sell our product.

We had a great time making our creations and we are now feeling prepared to get writing in the style of Roald Dahl.

Lucy & Jordan busy layering up their creations!

Look at the concentration on Jackson’s face!

A very chocolatey looking creation from Lewis.

A fruity looking creation by Kate!

Jack looks very proud of his masterpiece.

Emma sneaking a taste of the ingredients!

Alfie can’t wait to dig in to his Wonka creation!

Illisa’s wonderful creation.

A great time had by all!

Tomorrow’s Football matches have been POSTPONED.

We have just received the below email from the League.

Due to the ongoing extreme cold weather and the torrential rain/sleet/snow coupled with high winds that are forecast for tomorrow, a decision has been made to postpone Matchday 3 that was scheduled to take place.

It was felt this would be in the best interests of all involved and has been made with plenty of notice for schools to notify players and parents alike.

I will be in contact in due course with details of a new date for Matchday 3 (the new date will be set for February / March 2018).
